Have you noticed the various changes Facebook has been rolling out?
Some of the changes relate to their search function. Many people complain that the search function within Facebook is not that helpful.
Here is one change that they are making. When you start doing a search in their preview they are breaking down the results by category. For example, we searched for Sweepstakes and it has "Apps" and several apps listed and it has "Pages" and several pages. This may seem inconsequential but this really has a tremendus impact for businesses. Why?
Because as Facebook makes their search function more powerful people will use it more. Why go to Google? You are already logged into Facebook just search here!
This means it is important to make sure that your Facebook page is optimized for search!
So have you noticed the new way Google is showing some search results?
Google recently changed what they call sitelinks.
Sitelinks appear underneath the first search result for certain searches.
They do not appear for every search.
Imagine how nice it is if someone does a search and you have 10 or 11 links on the first page of results!
They are changing their algorithms to improve these results.
So how can you benefit from this?
Well, by optimizing your website for search, you could have your pages show up in searches like this.
Our belief is that by following Google's guidelines for SEO and having a well organized website including a sitemap you have a better chance of showing up like this.

Google still does not have Google +1 open to the public but it has been overwhelmed by people wanting to try it!
Facebook has announced that it is adding video chat (via skype integration in Facebook).
Well guess what Google +1 already has it working and people like it!

Did you know that Bing (the third most popular search engine) is now going to be using the number of Facebook "likes" that your web pages have to help determine how to rank your pages?
